French elopement in Scotland

Claire & Benoit didn’t tell anyone that they were eloping in Scotland. “We wanted to be just the two of us,” she told me, and I truly understood what she meant. For Claire’s birthday Benoit bought a plot of land in Glencoe - how romantic is that? They wanted to bring their daughter and elope from France to the Scottish Highlands. I’ve never experienced a couple reading vows for each other, that’s not a common thing in Denmark. Experiencing that was really emotional - even though I didn’t understand must of the French. Neil, the humanist celebrant, was truly amazing. He was wearing one of his 100 different kilts for the occasion, which just made it more authentic being out in the highlands.

I’ll tell you this: after the ceremony we all had 300 bites from the midges (who’s waking up because of oxygen = us breathing….) and we were so wet after the heavy rain coming down, BUT: It was all a part of this amazing day where we celebrated the love between Claire & Benoit.

I was so thankful for this experience and we now have friends in France, that we are going to visit soon.
So when you book your elopement photographer, it’s not just someone professional capturing your love - it’s a new friend who will be there with you on your big day and celebrate with you.
